The Terminal Two (T2) project reached another major safety milestone this week when the team clocked up more than one million hours worked without a reportable accident.
The one million hours milestone was achieved on Wednesday March 4 and to mark the success, all construction workers on the T2 project will attend a communication session and prize giving event next week.
“This is a fantastic achievement and well done to all involved,” said T2 Project Director Ciaran Scanlon. “Site safety is our number one goal at T2.” Scanlon added that the project's new target is have two million hours without a reportable accident. “I encourage the whole team to re-double their efforts to meet that goal,” he said.
A reportable accident is an accident that requires a worker to miss three days of work and the T2 team are striving to have as few accidents as possible on the site.
The T2 Safety Leadership Team, which comprises senior management personnel from the DAA, T2 Delivery Team and the trade contractors, is working to continuously improve the safety culture on the site and to encourage all workers to take personal responsibility for their own safety and that of others around them.
