Transforming Dublin Airport

Dublin Airport's T2/Pier E project is the largest construction site in the country

It’s official. Dublin Airport’s T2/Pier E project has surpassed the Corrib Gas Refinery, being built by Shell in Co. Mayo, as the largest construction site in the country.

The total number of people directly employed on the T2/Pier E project is now approaching 1,700, of which nearly 1,400 are involved in construction on the site. These numbers will continue to rise to an expected total of 2,400 at peak construction phase in the late summer/early autumn.

The Shell site, which had been the largest site in the country, currently employs just over 900 people.

DAA Director, Infrastructure, Colm Moran says: “The T2 construction project, and indeed all the other Transforming Dublin Airport projects, are not only delivering a new generation of airport facilities for all Dublin Airport’s customers, but are also providing very significant employment during this difficult economic period.
