Transforming Dublin Airport

T2’s Retail and Catering Programme

The next phase of T2’s retail and catering programme kicked off today when an information seminar was held at the Airport for the DAA’s recently-appointed third-party concessionaires and their design specialists.

At the meeting, the new tenants were briefed on how their fit-out schedule will dovetail with remaining construction activity in T2 and the DAA’s Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT) Programme, during which all staff scheduled to work in the new terminal will be trained and all its systems and equipment will be commissioned and trialled.

They were then taken on a tour of T2 and shown the shell and core retail units which they will soon take possession of from the DAA construction team.  The concessionaires’ design and fit-out programme is scheduled for completion in the early Autumn, in advance of the opening of T2 in November.

The DAA announced recently that up to 400 new retail and catering jobs will be created in approximately 40 separate outlets in T2. The DAA will continue to operate directly, a number of cosmetics, liquor and tobacco outlets in the new terminal, but the majority of new jobs will be provided by concessionaires, including WH Smith, House of Ireland and Swatch.
