Minister Visits Terminal 2

The Minister for Transport, Noel Dempsey, T.D., visited T2 today. He later told DAA board members that he wished to congratulate everybody involved with the new terminal and that he looked forward to its operation as a major piece of Ireland’s 21st century transport infrastructure.

The Minister was met by DAA Chairman, David Dilger and Chief Executive, Declan Collier, who guided him on the journey that departing and arriving passengers will take through the new facility. Mr Dempsey said he was very impressed with the design aspects of the building and the way space, light and comfort has been maximised for the passenger. He also noted that the DAA’s ORAT programme was already up and running including staff familiarisation and systems trialling schedules.

Two senior officials from the Department of Transport, Secretary General, Tom O’ Mahony and Assistant Secretary General, John Murphy, also completed the tour.
