Glazing Starts at Terminal One Extension

T1 Extension Glazing At Dublin Airport

Glazing work for the Terminal One Extension (T1X) at Dublin Airport started today.

The glazed exterior of the T1X (above) is one of the main design features of the €55 million extension, as the external façade uses fritted glass to show white clouds in a blue sky. The glass used at T1X has been produced by the German company Flachglas at its plant in Bavaria.

The glazing work started on time and over the next two months, the T1X construction team will install about 1,700 square metres of glass.

The 7,500 square metre Terminal One extension, which is being built at the north-western corner of the terminal, will radically improve the passenger journey to Pier A and Pier D. It will also provide new retail space.

The extension to Terminal One will be complete by next summer.
